South Bank Sailing Club

Welcome to London's Friendliest Sailing Club

We sail all year round on the River Thames: competitive trophy racing, informal fun races, casual cruising and riverside pub visits.

We’re a relaxed, international and sociable crowd. We love welcoming new people, helping them learn the ropes and fall in love with sailing!

(Sorry - we welcome novices, but we do not sell training courses)

Racing

We hold casual fun races on Saturdays, and more competitive Trophy races on Sundays

Excitement

Conditions on the Thames are normally gentle if tricky, but can be thrilling on our windier days!

Leisure

We often sail to nearby pubs; and occasionally to distant ones! Inexperienced sailors are welcome to crew on two-handed boats.

How to find us

The SBSC Clubhouse (Google Maps) is not on any public road and therefore satnav cannot be relied upon for road vehicles.

The front and rear access routes to the club are 1km apart in different postcodes, and this often causes confusion.

Front gate (for guests & members): Travel to Wandsworth Chelsea & Fulham Sea Scouts, Putney Embankment, London, then continue 600 metres north up the river path on foot or bike.

Rear gate (e.g. boat transportation, deliveries): Contact the committee if rear access is needed exceptionally.

South Bank Sailing Club is an HMRC-registered Community Amateur Sports Club or 'CASC'
